Help Stop Bannon
Good morning! Time to call your reps in DC again. Here’s how you contact your House reps and here’s how you contact your Senate reps. Today we are asking our elected representatives to go on the record as opposing Trump’s appointment of white supremacist propaganda publisher Steve Bannon to one of the most powerful positions in the executive branch.
For those not familiar, Bannon’s main propaganda network Breitbart News terrorized my friends and collaborators in the game industry for the last few years. He also architected the white power rallies that fueled Trump’s campaign. Please ask your elected rep to oppose this appointment on the record. You might be pleasantly surprised by how kind and courteous your rep’s staff are, on both sides of the aisle.
Support the National Popular Vote
The NPV Interstate Compact would be a game-changer for democracy in the US, and it’s pretty dang clever to boot. In Michigan, Senate Bill 88 (our local NPV proposal) is currently stuck in the Elections and Government Reform Committee, and has been since early 2015. One way for Michigan residents to help send a message and to help under-represented or disenfranchised voters have their voices heard is to call the offices of Michigan senator David Robertson at (517) 373-1636 and ask the committee to consider approving SB-88 for a vote in the MI Senate.
